GenAmi Seminar 2009

Held on 12th MARCH 2009 before the General Meeting

We review the program of workshops and conferences:

  • Jean CARCASSONNE: practical training on finding records on the web

  • Pr Marc FELLOUS: The BORGEL Cemetery, Tunis, and AICJT

  • Colette CLEMENT: after travelling to Warsaw and Minsk, Colette relates her genealogical journey.

  • Anne-Marie FRIBOURG: name change from MOYSE to LYON, the story continues.

  • Michel LANGE: Understanding records of Parisian Notaries, how to access them and examples.

  • Laurent MOYSE: origins of the first Jewish families of Luxemburg and who they were.

  • François van DETH: workshop on use of NIMEGUE software to capture and computerise records.

These workshops were very detailed and we hope to benefit from the many records captured after this stage.

35 members joined us for the lunch organised by GenAmi, this is more than any previous lunch except for GenAmi’s 10th anniversary.

The seminar was much appreciated by all the participants and we really wish to spread it to a larger audience next year.
